SIMONA LODI
Simona Lodi

I am contemporary art critic and curatorce 1993. In the 2003 I founded Share Festival, Share Prize (2007) and Action Sharing (2007). My collaboration as art director was since 2003 to 2013. In the meantime I have been a contributor to many leading contemporary Italian art publications, including Tema Celeste, Arte e Critica, Flash Art, Segno, , Cluster, Il Giornale dell’Arte, Il Giornale dell’Architettura and  I am contributor of LEA – Leonardo Electronic Almanac (MIT Press). For many years I was official blogger of Huffington Post Culture (USA). My career has taken me to New York, London and back again to Turin, a city that has embraced the world of new technology and communication.  In 2007 I launched the Action Sharing platform, sponsored by the Turin Chamber of Commerce, the Polytechnic of Turin, and mechatronics companies in Piedmont, to produce artistic projects that use mechatronics elements in a syncretic way, where art, science, research and experimentation are brought together and combined to create new tools of knowledge. My critical work deals with social, political and cultural themes, with an emphasis on technology, migration and cultural borderlines. I curate exhibitions, write articles and essays on the relationship between art and technology.  My reserch is on the impact that the digital revolution, new media and Internet as forms of expression have had on contemporary art. The unifying thread of my work as a critic lies in analysing contemporary art and the forms it has taken in our global, digital age.
